Have you set a fitness walking goal for the New Year or even just for spring? If you answered “yes”, congratulations! You’re already on your way to feeling and looking better this year.

And if you haven’t set a walking goal, why not make one today? For example, planning to walk “thirty minutes per day, six days this week,” is better than planning to walk “more” this week.

Why? The first goal is specific and measurable, which will help you to stay focused and motivated. Give it a try and see what happens.

New Fitness Walking Songs

Brisk walking music is perfect for anyone walking a 17 – 20 minute mile. This translates to songs that are 118 to 126 beats per minute and are perfect for intermediate fitness walkers. Fitness Walking Research - Walking Could Help Women Avoid Stroke!

A recent Harvard School of Public Health Study found that women who walked at least two hours a week were less likely to suffer a stroke than those who did not. In addition, women who walked at a fast pace (more than 3 miles per hour) had a 37% lower risk of suffering any type of stroke than those who walked slower. Wow!
