Fitness Walking Helped Me Lose The Baby Weight

That's a picture of me and my precious ten-week old son. He was the reason for my 45 pound weight gain (well, him and the cookies and candy I ate while pregnant!).

I started fitness walking with my son because I realized it calmed him down when he was fussy and lulled him to sleep. I was soon walking at least an hour a day and made it a family affair, bringing my dogs along with me.

To be honest, I never paid attention to how much weight I was losing. I just ate a sensible diet and walked every day. The walking was easy. I loved it! It was a time to collect my thoughts and think about whatever was on my mind. It was peaceful and relaxing. Walking made me feel better physically and emotionally. I felt more calm and centered after my walks.

After 14 weeks of fitness walking I realized I'd lost all the baby weight! In fact, I'd lost even more than the baby weight and weighed less than my pre-pregnancy weight. Even my dogs lost weight! I was thrilled that the pounds had melted off doing something I loved.

I still continue to walk with my son and dogs. Fitness walking has become my method of weight loss, relaxation and renewal of spirit!
