Finding a Good Shoe Fit

I purchased a pair of Saucony 15000-15 running shoes and my right foot kills me after walking 2+ miles. I recently bought another pair of walking shoes (last week) the name escapes me at this time. I spent $150 on them and after walking in them for one day - my left heal was in pain as well as my right foot. I am hoping I can return the second pair for another pair but I'm not sure. I need help, should I consult an orthopedic Doctor, get orthotics in my shoes, etc.
The Fitness Walking Guide Recommends...Although you are buying high-quality shoes, it sounds like you are not getting the right kind of shoe for your feet. Before visiting a doctor, I'd try to identify your foot type and purchase a pair of walking shoes made for your foot type.
You'll need to know if you prontate, have flat feet normal feet, or high arches. These answers will help you choose the right kind of shoe as walking shoes are made to support each type.
Have a look at this page about the
best walking shoes which will guide you through the process of identifying your foot type. There are also shoe recommendations for each type.
You can also go to an athletic shoe store. For free, they will analyze your feet and how you walk and recommend appropriate shoes. They can also help you choose an orthotic perhaps for your right foot.
If you still have foot pain, I'd recommend consulting an orthopedic Doctor for more personalized advice.
Best of luck to you and happy walking!
