Best Walking Shoes for High Arches
Hello,
I have high arches and my feet tend to roll over outwards somewhat when I walk. I have a difficult time finding comfortable footware and almost every shoe I buy causes some degree of blistering, etc., until I get somewhat used to them. I'm wondering if you could recommend a good all-purpose walking shoe - something that would be light and comfortable & would not make my feet sweat too much - I have worn Adidas & Saucony walking shoes in the past, with limited comfort. I would be using them for light to moderate walking. Thank you.

The Fitness Walking Guide Says...Hi there!
Because of your high arches and underpronation (feet rolling outward), a neutral shoe that gives maximum flexiblity is recommended. Perhaps the shoes you've worn in the past had more stability control and weren't as flexibile, which could cause blisters. But, you shouldn't have to suffer the pain of blisters to "break in" a shoe. It should be comfortable from the first step.
Some great walking shoes that are nuetral are Asics GEL-Resort and the Saucony Grid Integrity ST or Saucony Grid Omni Walker.
If you can, visit an atheltic shoe store that can analyze your feet and the way you walk and suggest the best shoe for you. No matter where you buy the shoes, make sure the seller has a good return policy so that you can walk in the shoes and return them if necessary.
Also, make sure you are wearing a good pair of athletic socks. Do not use a cotton sock which can bunch and cause blisters. Athletic socks use synthetic materials, which will offer more protection for your feet.
Best of luck and happy walking!
