Best shoe for rollover

by Barbara
(Leesburg, Ga)

I am having lots of problems out of my left leg right above my ankle. It hurts really bad when walking (for exercise). I have noticed that my foot rolls to the outside when walking. I need to see what sneaker is the best for this type of situation.
Thanks for your help.

It sounds like overpronation, also known as supination, but here's a quick test to find out for sure.

Take a look at the shoes you’ve been walking in. Turn them over and examine the wear pattern.

It’s normal for the outside border of the heel to have some wear.

If the inside area of the heel is more worn than the outside of the heel, you are an overpronator (your feet tend to roll inward too much as you walk).

If the outside of the heel is more worn relative to the inside, you are an underpronator or supinator (your feel roll outward as you walk.)

For this, a neutral-cushioned shoe, with maximum flexibility is recommended. Here are a few great choices:

Asics GEL-Resort - Commit to your fitness routine in the GEL-Resort walking shoe from ASICS. This performance-oriented trainer features a synthetic and mesh upper for breathable protection with an AHAR heel plug for enhanced durability at the point of impact. The GEL cushioning system offers full-length support, while the Ortholite insole provides moisture-wicking comfort. The rubber outsole delivers reliable traction on a variety of terrain.
Saucony Grid Integrity ST - Take in the long view with the energetic Grid Integrity ST walking shoe from Saucony. The full grain leather upper is built with key area stretch zones, increasing fit in the forefoot. Within the midsolet, the support bridge offers torsional stability for a supportive stride. The rearfoot Grid system provides cushion and shock absorption for enhancing every walking routine. The Grid Integrity ST meets the criteria for SADMERC approval.
